Today we got acquainted with another university in Germany that actively helps Ukrainian scientists and students – Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO https://www.iamo.de/en/). This institution is very close to us for at least two reasons, which are well understood from its name: the institute analyzes the economic, social and political processes of change in the agricultural and food sectors, as well as in rural areas. The geographical focus covers the enlarging EU, the transition regions of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, and Central and Eastern Asia.
The IAMO website has a separate page "News of Ukraine" (https://www.iamo.de/en/press/news-on-ukraine/), where the Institute's latest publications about the war in Ukraine are posted.
We were lucky enough to talk with the head of the Department of Agricultural Policy – Prof. Dr. Thomas Herzfeld. Considering the specifications of the Institute and the department, we found many tangential topics for our joint scientific research, so we agreed on the next meeting to discuss them in detail.
